Using the UP G-019-13 Lily Pipe Outflow in Singapore Planted Tanks

This 13mm glass outflow pairs with canister filter tubing on the return side, where it spreads flow gently across the water surface rather than blasting it. In a typical scaped tank that calm, even current keeps fine-leaved stems and carpets settled while still moving water front to back. The clear borosilicate disappears against the glass, which is exactly what local aquascapers come to us wanting for clean, competition-style layouts.

Surface ripple from the outflow matters more here than most realise. Our 27-29C ambient air holds less dissolved oxygen, so directing the outflow so it just dimples the surface helps gas exchange overnight without stripping injected CO2 during the day. Position it angled slightly along the back glass and adjust until the surface shimmers gently. Algae will eventually film the inside, so plan a soft brush through it during routine cleaning.
