Food Sticks
Food Sticks are a complete, nutritionally balanced formulation, developed for top-feeding carnivorous fish whose main diet of live food tends to cause nutritional deficiencies. Using Food Sticks instead of live foods reduces the chance of infection from parasites or bacteria found in most live foods.

Feeding Suggestions
Feed two (2) to three (3) times daily only the amount your fish will completely consume within three (2) to five (5) minutes. Care should be taken to avoid over-feeding. Carnivorous fish many resist a new type of food when changing their diet from live foods to a stick type food, continued use will ensure acceptance.
HIKARI Food Sticks for larger carnivorous fish in SG
Food Sticks are a floating stick diet aimed at top-feeding carnivores, which in Singapore usually means oscars, larger cichlids, gouramis and other medium predators kept in 3 to 4 foot tanks. The stick format is easy for a bigger-mouthed fish to take in one go, and switching from live or frozen staples to a prepared diet like this cuts the parasite and bacterial risk that comes with feeders. For busy keepers it is a convenient daily base they can store on a shelf.
In our 27-29C tanks these fish are voracious and grow fast, so portion control protects both the fish and your filter. A predator’s heavy feeding produces a lot of waste, so size each feed to a few minutes of eating, skip the occasional day, and make sure your filtration and water-change routine can keep up with the bioload in a warm tank.
For a hungry messy fish like the oscar, our oscar care guide covers diet and filtration, and our water quality routine keeps big-fish tanks stable. Browse more staples in our floating pellet range.
