Carpeting with Hydrocotyle Tripartita in Singapore tanks
Hydrocotyle Tripartita is one of our most popular carpeting plants for local aquascapes, thanks to its bright clover-shaped leaves and willingness to creep across the foreground. Supplied as a clean tissue-culture cup, it arrives algae and pest free, which shrimp keepers appreciate. We separate the portion into small clumps and dot them across the front; under good light they knit together into a fresh green mat surprisingly quickly.
It is versatile: with strong light and CO2 it stays low and dense, while in lower-tech tanks it tends to climb and bush out, so regular trimming keeps it carpet-flat. Our soft, slightly acidic Singapore tap water suits it once dechlorinated, and ambient 27-29C needs no heater. Trim often to keep the lower layers lit and healthy, and replant cuttings to thicken bare patches across the foreground of your tank.
