Growing Hygrophila Lancea Araguaia Pink Lady in Singapore Tanks
We stock this pink-blushed Hygrophila lancea form because it brings warm colour low to the substrate, where most aquascapers default to plain green. In our Singapore tanks it stays slow and deliberate rather than racing skyward, so it suits hobbyists who want a tidy front edge without weekly hacking. Plant the small portions a few centimetres apart on aquasoil, give it strong overhead light, and let the creeping stems knit into a low bush over several weeks.
Pink intensity here depends on light and lean nitrogen more than anything else, and steady CO2 keeps new leaves from shrinking. Our ambient 27-29C is comfortable for this species, so no chiller is needed in a typical HDB or condo setup. Because it grows unhurried, it competes poorly with algae early on, so we suggest pairing it with faster stems and a small cleanup crew while the patch establishes and the roots take hold across the soil.
It arrives in a clean pot, so rinse the rockwool, separate strands, and expect a short settling-in period as emersed tissue converts. See our Hygrophila lancea care guide and carpet plant comparison before planting, and browse more options under foreground plants.
