HIKARI Shrimp Cuisine for ornamental shrimp in Singapore

Shrimp Cuisine is a tiny sinking disc built around the vegetable matter that herbivorous shrimp prefer, which makes it a useful staple for the neocaridina and caridina colonies that are hugely popular in Singapore nano tanks. The world’s smallest manufactured disc format lets you portion precisely for a shrimp tank, where a single dropped disc gives the whole colony something to graze on for an hour or two without fouling a small volume of water.

Shrimp are sensitive to water parameters, and that matters here because our tap water is soft and slightly acidic, which neocaridina tolerate well but caridina need remineralised RO to thrive. At 27-29C shrimp are active grazers, so feed lightly every day or two and remove any uneaten disc, since overfeeding spikes parameters and invites planaria and hydra. Stable water beats heavy feeding every time with shrimp.

Our caridina shrimp care guide covers parameters and acclimation for SG water, and our water quality routine keeps a shrimp colony stable. Browse more diets in our general fish food range.
