Description

Jbl Propond Biotope

All-season food for biotope fish in the pond

Species-appropriate nutrition for all small, native biotope fish (at a water temperature of 10-30 °C)
Complete food with a protein/fat ratio of 4:1. Most biotope fish are omnivores, often favouring microorganisms and planktonic feeder animals
With insect proteins, shrimps and plant components for a near-natural diet for biotope fish such as the moderlieschen, gudgeon, stickleback, minnow, etc.
Sinking granulated food in pearl form with 34 % protein, 8 % fat, 4 % crude fibre and 12 % crude ash. Without preservatives
Granulated food in a resealable, airtight, waterproof and lightproof can for quality preservation. The mono-material of the bag/can can be completely recycled without separation

In addition to koi and goldfish, many pond owners keep other “native” fish species in their pond. These Central European or North American fish species are known as biotope fish. The most common species are moderlieschen, gudgeons, ides & golden orfes, three-spined sticklebacks, European bitterlings, minnow species and others. Most biotope fish species are small animal eaters. Some species also eat plant matter. As goldfish and koi have a different food spectrum and often also a different size, biotope fish, which are usually much smaller, should be fed with a special biotope fish food such as JBL PROPOND Biotope. Goldfish and koi will certainly also eat JBL PROPOND Biotope when feeding. However, this is not a problem, as they are also very happy to eat and tolerate the ingredients of the food.

JBL ProPond Biotope for Native and Small Pond Fish in SG

Biotope ponds stocked with smaller native-style fish are a quieter but growing corner of the Singapore hobby, and this sinking food is built for exactly those omnivorous little fish rather than big surface-feeding koi. Because it sinks, it suits species that naturally forage lower in the water column and feed on small invertebrates and plankton in the wild, so it mimics their habits better than a floating stick would.

The insect and shrimp protein with plant components gives a near-natural diet that suits the rasboras, white clouds and other small biotope fish people keep in shaded outdoor tubs and ponds here. Our warm climate means these fish stay active and feeding through the year, so portion modestly and remove anything uneaten to protect water quality in a small body of water. Floating plants overhead help shade the surface and keep the fish settled.
