Description
3-ALGAE FLAKES
3-ALGAE FLAKES are delicate flakes, rich in algae. Intended for everyday feeding of freshwater and marine herbivorous fish, whose diet is based on algae, and omnivorous fish – as a supplementary food. 3-ALGAE FLAKES contains three algae: chlorella (Chlorella vulgaris), and Ascophyllum nodosum and Laminaria digitata, referred to as kelp algae. Unsaturated fatty acids, protein (rich in essential amino acids) and vitamins from chlorella, together with macronutrients and trace elements from kelp algae (including iodine, chromium, selenium and iron) ensure excellent condition, intensive growth and vitality in fish.
By regular feeding with 3-ALGAE FLAKES you provide your fish with high-dose chlorophyll – green pigment coming from chlorella, which is a concentrated source of chlorophyll. Chlorophyll inhibits the development of unwanted bacteria in alimentary tract, preventing infections and together with zeolite enhances the release of toxins from fish’s bodies. Aloe extract improves immunity and stimulates proper bacterial flora in gastrointestinal tract. Due to its strengthening properties 3-ALGAE FLAKES is recommended in feeding fish undergoing quarantine or convalescence and new fish which are getting used to new living conditions.
Feeding 3-Algae Flakes in Singapore Aquariums
These algae-rich flakes suit the many herbivore-leaning fish we keep locally, from mollies and silver dollars to plecos and marine tangs that constantly graze. The vegetable base gives them a steady source of plant matter between live algae and blanched greens, which helps with digestion and reduces the bloating we sometimes see when grazers are fed only protein-heavy staples in a warm tank.
In our 27-29C water, fish metabolise quickly and beg often, so the temptation is to overfeed. Offer only what is cleared in a couple of minutes once or twice a day; leftover flakes break down fast in the heat and feed nuisance algae and ammonia. For mixed community tanks, alternate these with a protein flake so omnivores get a balanced rotation rather than relying on algae flakes alone.
Store the tub sealed and dry away from humid windows so flakes do not clump in our climate. Compare options in our guide to aquarium fish food types and our spirulina flake comparison, and see the wider general fish food range for daily staples.
