Size and form of food: Granules 1.2 mm
About the product:

Multi-ingredient food in the form of sinking granules based on 3 insects: hermetia (15%), silkworm (15%) and mealworm (15%) for omnivorous and carnivorous fish

Contains only highly-digestible insect protein, rich in amino acids, which are essential for fish

High fat content, including Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids, is a source of energy for fish and supports their skin function

Insect protein stimulates the growth of probiotic lactic acid bacteria, which results in better digestion, faster growth and greater immunity of fish

Significant content of chitin from insects activates immune cells, supports natural intestinal bacterial flora and increases nutrient absorption

Regular use of this food accelerates growth, strengthens immunity, regulates digestion and reduces the amount of fish metabolic waste that pollutes the water

Optimal phosphorus level meets the needs of fish and reduces algal blooms
The use of insects in Insect Menu food is not only a reference to the natural diet of fish, but it also has a lower impact on environmental resources: reduced water use and reduced energy consumption that results in a smaller carbon footprint

Contains no colorants or preservatives.

Feeding Tropical Insect Menu Granules in Singapore tanks

Insect-based granules suit hobbyists moving away from fishmeal staples, and we find they work well for our tropical community and oddball species kept at 27-29C. Because these are sinking granules, they reach mid-water and bottom feeders like corydoras, loaches and small catfish that often miss floating flakes. Drop a pinch near the substrate so shy feeders get a fair share before more aggressive tankmates clear the surface and intercept everything first.

Insect protein tends to be readily accepted, which helps when conditioning fussy wild-caught fish or coaxing newly imported stock onto prepared food after acclimation. We still suggest rotation rather than feeding one diet exclusively, alternating these granules with flakes or frozen foods across the week. In our warm water, metabolism runs fast, so small frequent portions are better than one large feed that fouls the tank and spikes ammonia.

Keep the tub sealed against our island humidity, since damp granules clump and lose quality quickly. Browse our other general fish food options, and read our guides on aquarium fish food types, sensible feeding amounts and frequency, and food storage in our climate.
