RED PARROT GRANULAT colour-enhancing granules for red parrots. Colour-enhancing food in the form of floating granules for red parrots and Cichlidae fish, with high demand for carotenoids, which intensify their coloration. Visible coloration improvement is the effect of high content of natural astaxanthin (100 mg/kg), which is easily assimilated and accumulated in chromatophores.
A considerable share of unsaturated fatty acids Omega-3 and Omega-6 enhances the immunity and keeps fish in excellent condition. The granules do not disintegrate in water, retaining their structure for a long period of time. This way they do not contaminate it or release any valuable nutrients. The volume of the granules is only slightly increased when placed in the water, therefore there’s no risk of digestive disorders in case fish eat larger helping.

Blood parrots are a Singapore aquarium staple, and their bright red-orange is heavily diet-driven, so a carotenoid-rich food like this floating granule earns its place. The natural astaxanthin is the key ingredient for intensifying colour, while the floating format suits the way parrots feed at and just below the surface with their distinctive small mouths. Feeding from the top also lets you watch each fish and spot any that are off their food.
Parrots are hearty, messy eaters, so in our warm 27-29C tanks pair generous feeding with strong filtration and regular water changes to keep nitrates down. Feed two or three small portions a day rather than one large one, offering only what is cleared in a couple of minutes. Consistent carotenoid intake over weeks does more for colour than any single heavy feed.
