GEX Killifish Plastic Bowl Granite 42cm Explained

The granite-finish version of GEX’s 42cm Killifish bowl swaps the plain black for a mottled stone-look interior, which sits beautifully under a wabi-kusa or a minimalist planted scape. Like its sibling it is a lightweight plastic vessel aimed at killifish, betta jars, shrimp grow-out and small low-tech projects. The textured granite tone gives a natural, earthy backdrop that flatters greens and earthy fish colours, and it hides detritus better than a stark dark base between cleans.

Plastic construction keeps it light and shatter-resistant, ideal for a breeding rack, a shelf display or a windowsill nano in a Singapore flat where a glass tank would be heavier and riskier to handle. The shallow open bowl gives good surface access for labyrinth fish, but expect brisk evaporation and quicker temperature swings in our warm climate, so top up regularly with treated water and keep it out of direct sun. Small, frequent water changes keep this unfiltered format clean.
