It is a sensible starter footprint for a single juvenile terrapin or a small group of hatchlings before they size up.

Turtles are messy eaters and heavy waste producers, so even in a tank this size strong filtration is non-negotiable. In Singapore our warm rooms mean the water itself rarely needs heating, but terrapins still need a dry basking area and the right overhead lighting to stay healthy. Plan for an external or oversized filter relative to the water volume, and expect to do generous, regular water changes to keep things clear and odour-free.
