The RX-99 is the larger 90 by 45cm version of SUDO’s steel mesh cover, made for the 3-foot tanks and enclosures that are common in Singapore homes with a bit more space. Like the smaller HerpNet, the black-coated steel grid is sturdy enough to contain climbing reptiles, amphibians, tarantulas and leaping fish, while the open weave keeps air and humidity moving instead of sealing in a stuffy microclimate.
On a 3-foot tank the ventilation advantage really tells, because a large solid lid over a warm 27-29C room tank traps heat and fogs with condensation, whereas this mesh lets the surface breathe. For fish keepers it is a dependable guard against surface-skimming species that jump at feeding time, and it still lets a clip light, mister or basking bulb work from above. The cover simply lays across the rim for tool-free removal during maintenance.
