How To Safely Add Fish To Tank
- Set live stock aside with transportation bag in room temperature place for 30 minutes.
- Then transfer bag to float in aquarium for another 30 minutes
- Use a fish net to transfer the live stock by scooping it from the bag into the tank.
Note: Do not release live stocks together with the transportation water into tank.
The Red Robin Gourami in Singapore Aquariums
The Red Robin Gourami is a captive-bred colour form of the dwarf gourami, prized for its rich, even red body that glows under good lighting. As a labyrinth fish it breathes atmospheric air, so it copes well with warm, calmer water and does not demand heavy aeration. Males show the strongest colour and can be mildly territorial, so a single male with a few peaceful tankmates usually works best in a planted community tank.
Singapore’s ambient 27-29C suits dwarf gouramis without a heater, and our soft, slightly acidic dechlorinated tap water is well within their comfort range. They prefer a gentle current and appreciate floating plants and tall stems that diffuse light and give them a sense of cover, which in turn encourages them to display. Feed varied small foods and keep water clean, as dwarf gouramis can be sensitive to declining quality.
