Feeding SFBB freeze-dried bloodworm in Singapore tanks
Freeze-dried bloodworm is the treat that gets even sulky eaters interested, and we keep it on the shelf for exactly that reason. It is a protein-rich supplement rather than a staple, ideal a couple of times a week for tetras, bettas, gouramis and other community fish kept in our warm tropical water. Because it is dry, it stores far more conveniently than frozen blister packs in a humid HDB kitchen where freezer space is precious.
We always suggest soaking the flakes briefly in tank water before feeding so they sink and soften, which reduces the chance of fish gulping air with floating pieces. Feed only what is cleared in a minute or two; leftover bloodworm fouls fast in 28C water. Keep the tub sealed and dry between uses, as our humidity will soften an open pack quickly.
