Syngonium Podophyllum Wendlandii for SG Paludariums

Syngonium Podophyllum Wendlandii is a striking aroid with arrow-shaped leaves marked by a pale central vein, most at home grown emersed in the humid zone of a paludarium or open riparium rather than fully submerged. Singapore’s year-round humidity suits it well, letting the foliage stay lush above water while roots anchor into damp substrate, driftwood or moss. It brings a jungle, terrestrial feel to the top half of a display.

As a submerged aquatic it is unreliable and tends to decline, so we steer keepers toward open-top or wabi-kusa style setups where it can breathe. Give it bright indirect light, keep the roots consistently moist, and pinch back overly long runners to maintain a compact shape. The biggest risk indoors is letting it sit too wet, not too dry.
