Limnophila sp. ‘Vietnam’ for nano and midground scapes
Limnophila sp. ‘Vietnam’ is one of the more useful small stem plants we carry, with a creeping-to-bushy habit that works in the midground, as a foreground filler, or massed in a nano tank. Its fine foliage gives a soft, feathery texture that contrasts well against broad-leaved epiphytes and reds. For the compact aquariums common in HDB flats and condos, its modest size makes it far easier to manage than the larger Limnophila species.
It tolerates a wide window, including the 15-30C span and the soft, low-hardness water that our local tap supply naturally provides once dechlorinated, so Singapore’s ambient 27-29C is no obstacle and no heater is needed. Growth is fast under good light and CO2, where it branches densely; in lower-tech tanks it stays more open and grows slower. Pinch and replant the tops to build a tight bush.
