Syngonium Red Knight for above-water displays

The Red Knight cultivar brings deeper, pink-flushed foliage to the familiar arrowhead form, and we keep it for hobbyists wanting a warmer colour note in their paludarium or terrarium. As an emersed-growing aroid it climbs and trails over cork bark and driftwood, its blush-toned leaves catching the eye against the greens of mosses and ferns in a part-flooded scape. It is not an aquatic plant and should not be kept fully submerged.

The constant high humidity in Singapore homes suits Red Knight beautifully, so closed vivariums need little supplementary misting to keep it turgid. Root it into moist substrate or a mossy ledge above the waterline, give it bright indirect light to hold the colour, and trim the leading vines to encourage a fuller, more compact habit.
