Aquaforest Plug Rocks Purple for Coral Fragging

The purple version of these plug rocks is a favourite among Singapore reefers who want their mounts to blend into coralline-rich rockwork from day one. Rather than waiting months for a stark white plug to colour up, the purple base reads closer to mature live rock immediately, which makes a frag rack or display look established. Each pack contains 24 plugs, ideal for a propagation run or splitting a colony to share with the local community.

We find the flat caps and stable stems hold frags upright even in stronger gyre flow, so SPS and softie cuttings stay put while they heal. Glue the frag with a reef-safe gel, then ease the plug into a rack hole. In our warm 27-29C tanks coral growth runs fast, so encrustation over the purple cap usually starts within a few weeks if alkalinity and lighting are stable.
