Aquaforest Hybrid Pro Salt combines chemically pure lab-made salt with natural sea salt flakes from the North Atlantic Ocean to deliver the best of both worlds for a more natural, probiotic-enriched reef aquarium.
After collecting a variety of water samples from naturally thriving reefs across Egypt, Kenya, Indonesia, and Fiji; the chemists and biologists at Aquaforest analyzed the ICP results of these established coral reef habitats to create a set of parameters for even the most demanding corals. Unlike the ocean, an aquarium is a closed ecosystem and not all elements are consumed evenly. To compensate for absorption differences, levels of the most commonly consumed micronutrients and trace elements such as strontium and iodine were increased for greater stability.
The resulting Hybrid Pro Salt formula creates conditions almost identical to those found in natural seawater while having the added benefit of probiotics to help maintain microbiological balance, which safely lowers nitrate and phosphate levels.

Instructions for Use

Dissolve 390 grams of salt into 10 liters (2.19 US gal) of RODI water
Mix for approximately 15 minutes. Once completely dissolved, the saltwater is ready for immediate use

For best results, Hybrid Pro Salt should be dissolved in RODI water at a temperature between 24-25°C (75-77°F) at a salinity of 33 ppt (1.025 S.G.).
The dissolved salt should be used up within 3 days. Evaporation changes the parameters of the water, so keep the prepared saltwater tightly closed. If you store it for several days, check its salinity before use.

Hybrid Pro is a popular pick among our customers running mixed reefs because it blends lab-made salt with natural sea-salt flakes, giving a consistent batch-to-batch mix that is forgiving for everyday water changes. For Singapore keepers it pairs well with RODI water, since our chloraminated tap supply needs proper filtration before it ever touches a reef. Mix in a dedicated container, aerate, and let it dissolve fully before checking salinity with a refractometer.

We always remind reefers here to match new water temperature to the display before a change. With tanks sitting at 27-29C year round, dumping in cooler freshly mixed saltwater can stress sensitive SPS, so we let the mixing barrel warm naturally or use a spare heater. Aim for stability over chasing exact numbers, and keep a sealed bucket so the bonded probiotic component and trace package stay intact between water-change sessions in our humid climate.
