OASE OptiMax Spare Rotor: The Part That Keeps Your Pump Alive

The rotor (impeller) is the single wear part most likely to bring an OASE OptiMax pump to a halt, and in Singapore that day usually arrives sooner than the manual suggests. Year-round warmth fuels brisk biofilm and limescale build-up, and fine grit drawn through the intake gradually scores the shaft and magnet. When you notice reduced flow, rattling, or a pump that hums but will not start, a fresh rotor is almost always the cheap fix before you consider replacing the whole unit.

Match the spare to your exact model size, as the OptiMax range uses different rotors across the 300, 500, 800, 1000, 2000 and 3000 variants. We suggest keeping one in the drawer: a stalled pump means stalled filtration and circulation, and at our ambient temperatures dissolved oxygen and water quality slide quickly once flow stops. Swapping a rotor is a five-minute job that saves a sick tank.

Find more in our water pumps section, and our guides to the best aquarium water pumps and aquarium powerheads help you keep circulation reliable.
