Odyssea 8mm Glass Cover Holders: Small Part, Big Job

These four glass-cover holders are sized for 8mm tank glass and quietly solve a real Singapore problem. A cover glass sitting on these clips traps humidity and cuts evaporation, but more importantly it stops fish leaping out, which is no small risk with active swimmers in our open-top rimless setups. Raised slightly on the holders, the glass still leaves a gap for gas exchange and cabling so you are not sealing the tank shut.

There is a practical maintenance angle too. In our hot, humid flats, an unprotected open tank loses water steadily and concentrates dissolved minerals, nudging your parameters; a cover slows that down between water changes. The clips also keep the glass off the rim cleanly so condensation drips back rather than running down the cabinet. Confirm your glass thickness before buying, as the matching 6mm version exists for thinner tanks.
