With segments set in 30-minute blocks and multiple on/off cycles per day, it plugs directly into the wall and runs your light, CO2 solenoid, or feeder on a fixed schedule. Safety shutters on the outlet are a sensible touch in humid HDB and condo flats.

Consistency is the real benefit here. A fixed photoperiod is one of the easiest ways to keep algae in check, since erratic lighting hours stress plants and feed nuisance growth.
