JBL Ferropol Root Tabs for Root-Feeding Plants
These root tablets deliver concentrated iron and minerals straight into the substrate where heavy root-feeders like swords, crypts and large stem plants actually take up nutrients. You press one tab deep into the root zone roughly once a month, around one tab per five to ten stems, so the feeding happens at the roots rather than drifting into the water column where it could feed algae instead.
They supply a broad mix including nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, iron and a range of trace elements in a plant-available form. Because the nutrients stay locked in the soil, you avoid polluting the water, which is helpful in the inert gravels and sands many local aquascapers prefer over rich active soils. They’re also invertebrate-safe, so they suit planted shrimp tanks.
