Description
Keeping Green Jade Shrimp in a Planted SG Tank
Green Jade Shrimp are a selectively bred Neocaridina morph prized for their soft to deep green bodies, and like all Neocaridina they are hardy, beginner-friendly grazers. They earn their keep cleaning biofilm and algae off plants and hardscape while adding an unusual colour you rarely see in local tanks. A mature, planted setup with moss gives them the cover and grazing surfaces that keep colonies confident and breeding.
Green is a colour that can vary between individuals and weaken in poor conditions, so stable parameters and a dark substrate help the jade tone stay rich. As with all Neocaridina, keep copper well away and confirm any fertiliser or treatment is shrimp-safe. They suit our local water’s moderate hardness, and because our ambient temperatures run warm, a cooler shaded spot keeps them comfortable and breeding steadily.
