Labisia Emblem Mata Urnulata Green in Singapore Scapes
We carry the Urnulata Green form of Labisia Emblem Mata, a patterned Southeast Asian foliage plant grown for its cupped, textured leaves. While listed among our stems, it shows its best colour and form grown emersed in humid conditions, so we often recommend it for the planted margins of a paludarium or riparium where the roots stay moist and the leaves breathe humid air. Singapore’s warm, damp climate suits this regional native well.
Plant it into an airy, free-draining mix and keep it evenly moist rather than waterlogged at the base. Soft, diffused light protects the leaf patterning, while strong direct output tends to bleach it. Ambient indoor temperatures of 27-29C are comfortable without a chiller, though air-conditioning dries the air, so an enclosed or partially covered display holds humidity better. We dechlorinate tap water before misting and prefer RO or rainwater for new growth.
Use it as a textured accent in humid emersed layouts, and trim spreading growth to keep groups tidy. Our riparium setup guide and enclosure comparison help you plan, with more choices under stem plants.
