CaribSea Arag-Alive Special Grade Reef Sand in Singapore
Special Grade is one of the most popular reef sands for a reason: its medium grain size handles strong flow without scattering, making it a dependable choice for the high-circulation nano and AIO tanks that suit Singapore’s compact homes. The grains are large enough to stay anchored under powerheads yet still read as a natural reef floor, so you avoid the perpetual sandstorm that finer grades can cause when flow is turned up for SPS or active fish.
As a live aragonite substrate it ships wet and bacterially seeded, helping jump-start biological filtration in a new system, but we still encourage testing through cycling rather than relying on the bag alone. Aragonite’s buffering helps hold steady pH and alkalinity, which is genuinely useful here given Singapore’s soft tap water. Add it gently to a filled tank and skip aggressive rinsing to preserve the live culture.
