JUN Plant Gravel (M) for Rooted Freshwater Tanks

The M grade Plant Gravel sits at roughly 10mm with the same rounded, plant-friendly grain as the larger size, but in a more versatile dimension. It is a natural inert gravel that does not alter pH or KH, giving Singapore keepers a neutral floor while they decide how to handle our soft, slightly acidic tap water. The rounded corners make planting easy and protect delicate roots and the barbels of bottom-feeders.

This middle grain is a good all-rounder for community tanks, goldfish and medaka setups, and rooted plants that need something to grip without the bulk of the L grade. Waste stays accessible for a gravel vacuum, and the bed resists the compaction that plagues very fine substrates. For nutrient-hungry stem plants, pairing it with root tabs gives the feeding that an inert gravel alone cannot.

Browse the full substrate range to compare grades. Our root tabs guide and active vs inert substrate comparison will help you feed rooted plants in inert gravel.
