JUN Sticking Soil for Terrariums and Aquarium Walls

Sticking Soil is a tacky, mouldable natural material that you knead with water and press onto surfaces. It lets you attach moss and plants directly to aquarium glass, hardscape or the sloped back wall of a scape, and it works equally well for terrarium builds. In Singapore’s humid climate this kind of emersed-friendly media holds moisture readily, so attached moss establishes quickly with little fuss compared with drier countries.

Application is simple: add water until it reaches a sludgy, workable consistency, then shape it freely onto the wall or hardscape and embed your moss or small plants. The key is keeping it damp without flooding it, since over-wet sticking soil loses its grip and may slough away. Mist with dechlorinated water, and in a closed terrarium allow gentle airflow to keep mould in check through our wetter months.

See the rest of our substrate options for matching media. For projects, our driftwood and moss aquascape guide and moss attachment guide show how to use it.
