SUDO S-8945 Real Black Sand 5kg for Full Layouts

The 5kg bag of fine black sand is sized to floor a full-length tank, giving you that dramatic dark base across the whole footprint. The deep colour creates strong contrast that flatters fish and makes carpets, stones and driftwood stand out, which is why we reach for it on so many modern and natural-style scapes. It works equally well as a clean foreground capped over a richer planting substrate behind.

Made from pre-washed natural sand minerals, it is inert and will not move your parameters in our soft local water. The fine grain means you should keep the bed shallow and disturb it during water changes to release any trapped gas. Rinse thoroughly first, then pour it slowly through a cup or onto a plate to avoid clouding the column and disturbing existing layers.
