Description
Supplement contains concentrated chromium. It’s a natural compound of a seawater. In a closed aquarium system it is quickly consumed by marine organisms, so it should be regularly supplemented. In order to keep steady parameters, the concentration of cobalt should be systematically monitored.
Dosage
1 ml of the product increases the chromium level by 0.0005 mg/l (ppm) in 100 litres (27 US gal) of water. Recommended level of chromium in aquarium water is 0.0001 – 0.0004 mg/l (ppm). Please remember, that maximum safe daily dose is 1 ml per 100 litres of water. If you need a higher dose, split it into a few days. Dosage should be based on microelements consumption. Note, that each aquarium is different and final dosage depends on the coral cast and individual aquarium needs. Both, deficiency and excess micronutrients will affect aquarium inhabitants, therefore dosage should be selected and modified on the basis of regular Aquaforest Lab water tests.
***You may find out whether your aquarium water contains harmful substances or needs supplementation through this AF ICP Test 1 and understand more about Aquaforest Lab for your corals.
Aquaforest Chromium LAB for precision reef dosing
Chromium sits among the trace elements naturally present in seawater and quietly consumed by a closed reef’s inhabitants over time. We carry the 200ml Chromium LAB for advanced reefers who dose by single element and want to correct a measured shortfall rather than blanket-supplement. It is a highly concentrated solution, so the small bottle goes a long way on a home-sized Singapore tank with typical uptake.
This is firmly a test-first product. With trace elements at vanishingly small target concentrations, the margin between helpful and harmful is narrow, and the only safe way to dose is off the back of ICP data. We caution customers against exceeding the recommended daily limit and against guessing in a warm tank where consumption varies. Add small amounts, re-test, and let the corals tell you whether you are on the right track.
It belongs in our water testing and care range. Before dosing, read our reef trace elements dosing guide and our trace element deficiency guide.
