Description
Supplement containing highly concentrated iron. Iron is an important micronutrient absorbed by corals and sea anemones. Regular and balanced iron supplementation provides intense green colouration of corals. Iron plays an important role in the process of photosynthesis, therefore its supplementation improves the coral nutrition process. Especially supports green colouring of Acroporas as well as other SPS corals.
Dosage
1 ml of the product increases the iron level by 0.001 mg/l (ppm) in 100 litres (27 US gal) of water. Recommended level: 0.002 – 0.006 mg/l (ppm). Recommended dosage: 0.25 ml/100 l (27 US gal) of water daily. Please remember, that maximum safe daily dose is 1 ml per 100 litres of water. If you need a higher dose, split it into a few days. Note that each aquarium is different and the dosage depends on the coral stocking and individual needs.

Dosing Aquaforest Ferrum LAB on Singapore Reef Tanks
Iron is one of the easiest trace elements to overdo, and most local SPS keepers reach for it the moment a colony looks dull green rather than testing first. Ferrum LAB is extremely concentrated, so on a typical 200-300L mixed reef in an HDB or condo set-up a fraction of a millilitre shifts the reading noticeably. We recommend dosing into a high-flow area of the sump, never onto a coral, spreading the weekly amount across several small doses.
Because Singapore tanks run warm at 27-29C, metabolism and uptake are brisk, so consumption can exceed label estimates. Pair iron with stable nutrients rather than chasing it in isolation. Greens fade fast when nitrate or phosphate bottoms out, and adding iron to a starved tank rarely fixes colour. Keep a log, dose conservatively, and let colour climb gradually over weeks instead of forcing it.
You will find this alongside our other dosing supplements in water testing, water care and treatment, and if you are dialling in greens it helps to read our reef trace elements dosing guide alongside the nitrate and phosphate balance for SPS colour guide before increasing any single element.
