Rhaphidopora Spp in the Planted Singapore Tank

Rhaphidopora Spp is an uncommon live aquarium plant that brings natural greenery and a useful biological role to a freshwater layout. As it grows it absorbs nitrates and other surplus nutrients from the water column, which helps starve algae and keep conditions cleaner between water changes. Its foliage also doubles as shelter, giving shrimp and fish fry somewhere to retreat and forage, which makes it as practical as it is decorative.

In our local conditions it is forgiving: Singapore’s soft, slightly acidic dechlorinated tap water and warm 27-29C ambient suit a wide range of hardy aquatic plants, so most setups need no heater for the plants’ sake. Expect a settling-in period where older leaves may melt before new submerged growth establishes; this is normal and not a sign of failure. Moderate, consistent lighting and gentle nutrient levels keep it growing steadily.
