TCulture Echinodorus Ozelot Red as a Singapore Feature Plant

The Ozelot Red Sword brings warm colour to a planted tank, its broad leaves flushing red, pink and gold with darker spotting against the green. As a rosette Echinodorus it works beautifully as a single background or mid-ground feature, lending depth and a splash of contrast that lifts an otherwise all-green Singapore aquascape. It grows large, so it shines in taller community tanks.

Like all swords it feeds mainly through its roots, so a nutritious substrate or a root tab beneath the crown makes a real difference to leaf size and colour. Brighter light helps the red tones develop, while it still grows steadily in our warm 27-29C water without demanding CO2. Plant the crown just clear of the substrate and remove tired outer leaves over time, and give it height and room since this is a plant that rewards a taller tank.
