Samolus Parviflorus ‘Red’ as a midground accent
This rosette plant is a quietly striking midground choice, sending out broad spoon-shaped leaves that flush red under strong light and CO2. We like it where a stem hedge meets a carpet, because its rounded form breaks up the verticals and adds a splash of warm colour without dominating the layout. It stays comparatively low, so it suits the shallower rimless tanks popular in HDB and condo living rooms.
Supplied as a clean tissue-culture portion, it arrives free of snails and algae, ready to separate into several small clumps. Plant each rosette with the crown above the substrate and give it light it can actually reach; it dislikes being overshadowed. In our warm climate no heater is generally needed, and once rooted into a nutrient-rich substrate it colours up steadily rather than melting back.
See the full live plants range for pairings, and read our notes on acclimating new plants and fixing melting tissue-culture plants to settle it in smoothly.
