Bucephalandra ‘Bukit Kelam’

In nature, Bucephalandra usually grows on rocks or wood in rivers and streams – much like Anubias, which they resemble regarding use and care in the aquarium.
Bucephalandra ‘Wavy Green’ is an easy, slow-growing plant that prefers lower light levels. A nice, dense appearance is ensured by the willingness to branch, even without trimming.
The green leaves are 2 cm wide and 5 cm long with wavy edges. Tiny white spots will appear on immerse leaves.
The creeping stem, rhizome, must not be covered when planting. This will cause the plant to rot and die.

Bucephalandra ‘Wavy Green’ Potted in Singapore
‘Wavy Green’ is an easy, slow-growing Bucephalandra with green leaves and gently rippled edges that catch the light well in a planted layout. Like its relatives it grows naturally on rocks and wood in flowing rivers, resembling Anubias in both use and care. It branches readily even without trimming, building a dense, full appearance over time. The potted form lets you establish and attach it to hardscape straight away.
Keep the creeping rhizome exposed when fixing it to rock or driftwood, since burying it leads to rot. This variety prefers lower light, which makes it forgiving for the modest nano and shrimp tanks common in HDB and condo homes, and helps keep leaf algae at bay. Expect a short period of melt as it adjusts, then slow, reliable growth at our 27-29C room temperature with minimal maintenance.
