Utricularia Graminifolia (UG) Carpet, Clean From Cup

UG is one of the prettiest grass-like carpets going, with fine fronds that ripple in the current once established. Buying it as tissue culture matters more than usual here, because traditional UG often arrives mixed with algae and other plant matter; the cup gives you a clean, dense mat you can portion confidently. Slice the pad into small squares and press them gently into the substrate, leaving a little space for the carpet to knit together.

UG can be temperamental during establishment, often melting back before exploding into growth, so patience is key. It performs best with strong light and pressurised CO2, and our soft slightly acidic tap water suits it once dechlorinated. Singapore’s warm 27-29C ambient is workable, though very hot tanks can slow the recovery phase, so good flow and stable parameters help it settle faster.
