Description
Limnophila Aquatica
An extremely beautiful aquarium plant circled by light-green and finely branched leaves from South-East Asia.
In the right growing conditions with added CO2 and a nutritious bottom this plant grows fast and can become 25-50 cm long and each stem up to 15 cm wide.
In good light it forms horizontal side shoots and becomes attractive and bushy.
Most decorative when several stems are planted in a small group.
In open aquariums it sometimes sends shoots above the water surface, forming small blue flowers.

Tropica Limnophila aquatica for SG Background Scapes
Limnophila aquatica is one of the more spectacular background plants we carry, with whorls of light-green, finely branched foliage that look almost feathery in a layout. Supplied as tissue culture, it arrives free of snails, algae and pesticides. From South-East Asia, it gives a soft, lush backdrop that frames hardscape and contrasts beautifully with broad-leaved or red plants.
To get that full, bushy effect it wants CO2, bright light and a nutritious substrate; under those conditions stems can reach 25-50cm and throw horizontal side shoots that thicken the group. In our warm 27-29C water it grows quickly, so plant several stems together and trim regularly to keep the lower foliage lit. It is most decorative as a dense stand rather than scattered single stems.
