- Use a fish net to transfer the live stock by scooping it from the bag into the tank.
Note: Do not release live stocks together with the transportation water into tank.
Keeping Bicolor Corydoras in a Singapore community tank
Corydoras are an easy recommendation for local community tanks, and the bicolor is a handsome, peaceful addition that spends its day foraging the substrate. Like all cories these are shoaling fish, so plan for a group of six or more rather than a lonely pair; in a tight shoal they are far more active and settled. A soft sand bed protects their delicate barbels, which is something a sharp gravel will wear down over time and leave them prone to infection.
Acclimation matters most for any livestock here. Float the sealed bag to equalise temperature for around half an hour, then introduce small amounts of tank water before netting the fish across rather than tipping in shop water. Our warm ambient 27-29C suits them without a heater in most flats, and their soft, slightly acidic preference lines up well with our local tap once it is properly dechlorinated.
