Setting Up the CADE River S2 600 in a Singapore Home
The River S2 600 hits a sweet spot for local aquascapers: at 60x50x45cm it carries serious front-to-back depth for layered hardscape, yet the footprint still fits a standard console or a corner of a condo living room. The extra 50cm width over a typical 60cm tank is what lets you build convincing distance into a nature-style layout rather than a flat wall of stone. Filled, the system is heavy, so place it over a wall or a load-bearing line rather than mid-span on suspended HDB flooring.
Our ambient indoor temperatures of 27-29C mean many freshwater scapes in this tank run heater-free year round, which simplifies the open-top wiring considerably. Singapore tap water is soft and slightly acidic out of the tap, friendly to most planted setups, though we always recommend dechlorinating for chloramine before adding livestock. The aluminium-and-glass cabinet is fully waterproof, a genuine advantage given our humidity and the occasional monsoon-season spill.
