Description
EIHO Plant KH is formulated to increase and maintain carbonate hardness (KH) in planted aquaria. In natural plant aquatic environment, KH is often low (0-2dKH), However, in aquaria, with CO2 addition, it
is important to maintain carbonate hardness. The recommend KH is 2-5dkH
Under low KH conditions, with addition of CO2, pH can drop to dangerously low level. With a high KH level, the aquaria are buffered from major pH changes. This will create a more stable environment for plants and fishes. The recommend pH levels for planted aquaria are 6.4-7.0.
Use immediately after water change
1drop for 1L
1 cap (5ml) for 50L of water
This dosage will increase about 1dKH.
KH of different water source can differ greatly. First measure the dKH level of water source and add accordingly to increase the dKH.
EIHO Plant KH for stable carbonate hardness in SG planted tanks
Plant KH raises and holds carbonate hardness in planted aquaria, which matters far more here than many beginners realise. Singapore tap water is naturally soft with very low KH, so once you add CO2 the pH can plunge to dangerous levels. Nudging KH into the recommended 2-5dKH range buffers the tank against those swings and keeps pH in the comfortable 6.4-7.0 band that most community fish and plants prefer.
Dose immediately after a water change at one drop per 1L, or one 5ml cap per 50L, which raises KH by roughly 1dKH. Always test your source water first, since the KH of different supplies varies, and add only what is needed to reach your target. A small, stable buffer is especially valuable in injected tanks, because a low-KH tank with heavy CO2 is one of the most common causes of sudden pH crashes we see locally.
