Description
Dark Extract for Shrimp by SL-Aqua is a specialized liquid that is meant to mimic natural water properties for great shrimp health. Shrimp species are known to be sensitive to any dramatic swings in their water parameters. Using Dark Extract helps reduce the impact CO2 has on pH levels and aids to keep water parameters stable. Dark Extract’s natural formula helps to increase mineral and vitamin absorption resulting in improved metabolism, increased immunity and protection during the molting. Regular use will also help to inhibit the growth of bacteria strains responsible for disease and will improve coloration. Dark Extract is great to use during breeding projects and encouraging spawning behavior.
We recommend using this product for Bee Shrimp, Neocaridina Shrimp, and more.

SL Aqua Dark Extract for Singapore shrimp keepers
Dark Extract is a botanical-style liquid that recreates the soft, tannin-tinted blackwater many shrimp evolved in, without you having to brew leaves for weeks. We recommend it to Caridina keepers chasing stable conditions, because it buffers gently against the pH swings that CO2 and water changes can cause. Shrimp are famously touchy about sudden shifts, so anything that smooths those edges tends to show up in steadier colonies and cleaner moults.
It gives the water a light amber cast that looks natural under LED and complements driftwood-heavy SG layouts. Beyond the look, the formula is aimed at supporting overall vitality and resilience through the demanding moult stage. As with any additive, we suggest starting at the lower end and observing your colony rather than overdosing; with sensitive shrimp, slow and consistent always beats a heavy hand.
