AF Power Food 20g

Description

Powdered food for all types of corals, especially SPS corals. Unique formula of AF Power Food is based on a special mix of highly nutritious plankton and marine and freshwater algae. The formula has been enriched with the highest quality products of the animal origin and shellfish additives. Carefully selected ingredients were chosen to satisfy the needs of even the most demanding corals. AF Power Food is easily digestible and rich in valuable extracts which provide corals with maximum nutrients. The unique recipe has been developed basing on nutritional needs of SPS corals, so as to provide them with excellent coloration and quick growth. AF Power Food is enriched with a set of specially selected vitamins that support immunity and provide the corals with optimal growth. The product contains all the necessary ingredients in the daily diet of corals.

Dosage: 1 measuring spoon per 100 l (27 US gal) of water.

Fill a small container with approx. 20 ml of aquarium water, add a spoon of AF Power Food and mix for one minute. Use the pipette to feed selected corals with the suspension. The AF Power Food suspension may be dosed directly into the tank with the dosage of 1 spoon per 100 l (27 US gal) of water. Use at least once a week. In well-planted, mature aquariums the product can be used more often, even daily.

All powdered foods have a recommended dosage of 1 spoon per 100 l (27 US gal) of water, though, it’s important that each aquarium is different and the dosage may vary depending on the coral cast. We recommend starting dosing foods and supplements from half of the dose (even ¼) and observing the corals and their reactions to the administered food. Once the aquarium shows no sign of overdose, we recommend increasing dosage to the target dose. Corals such as Zoanthus, Ricordea and other mushroom corals should be fed during the day. In order to facilitate the food absorption, SPS and LPS corals should be fed after the light is out. In order to ensure the best nutrients absorption, all supplements and foods for corals should be dispensed directly into the aquarium. During the feeding we recommend switching off the skimmer for about an hour.

AF Power Food 20g for SPS-Dominant Reefs

Power Food is a powdered coral food built around plankton and marine and freshwater algae, with the recipe leaning towards what SPS corals need. We recommend it for Singapore reefers whose tanks run lean on nutrients and whose corals would benefit from a direct feed rather than relying on water-column scraps alone. The fine particle size suits the small polyps of Acropora and Montipora, which can’t grab the chunkier foods that LPS happily engulf.

In practice we mix a small measure into a cup of tank water, turn off the return and skimmer for a short window, and either broadcast it or target-feed colonies with a pipette. Feeding lightly and often beats dumping a big dose, which only spikes nutrients and feeds algae. Watch your phosphate and nitrate as you build the routine, since heavy feeding in a small SG tank can shift parameters quickly.
