Description
AF Zoa food is a powdered food is dedicated mostly for Zoanthus, Ricordea, Rhodactis, and other mushroom corals. Carefully selected plant mixture developed to meet all the needs of Zoanthuses and mushroom corals. AF Zoa Food is enriched with a special set of vitamins perfectly matching the needs of these corals. By completing the composition with a vitamin blend, AF Zoa Food supports healthy and intense growth. AF Zoa Food provides the most important nutrients, thus it improves their coloration and speeds up their development.
Dosage: 1 measure spoon per 100 l (27 US gal) of water.
Fill a small container with approx. 20 ml of aquarium water, add a spoon of AF Zoa Food, and mix for one minute. Pour the suspension directly into the tank or use the pipette to feed selected corals. Use at least once a week. In well-planted, mature aquariums the product can be used more often, even daily.
All powdered foods have a recommended dosage of 1 measure spoon per 100 l of water, though, it’s important that each aquarium is different and the dosage may vary depending on the coral cast. We recommend starting dosing foods and supplements from half of the dose (even ¼) and observing the corals and their reactions to the administered food. Once the aquarium shows no sign of overdose, we recommend increasing dosage to the target dose. Corals such as Zoanthus, Ricordea and other mushroom corals should be fed during the day. In order to facilitate food absorption, SPS and LPS corals should be fed after the light is out. In order to ensure the best nutrients absorption, all supplements and foods for corals should be dispensed directly into the aquarium. During the feeding, we recommend switching off the skimmer for about an hour.
Aquaforest Zoa Food 30g for Zoanthids and Mushrooms
Zoanthids, ricordea, rhodactis and other mushroom corals are often called low-maintenance, but a little targeted feeding noticeably improves their colour and polyp extension. AF Zoa Food is a fine powdered blend developed for exactly these soft corals, carrying a plant-based mix and a vitamin set matched to their needs. Target-feeding a few times a week, rather than dumping it in the water column, gives the best response and keeps nutrient export manageable.
For Singapore reefers, the powdered form mixes easily with tank water and can be spot-fed with a pipette onto open polyps after lights dim and the flow is lowered. Because our ambient temperatures run warm, keep an eye on leftover food settling in the rockwork, as it breaks down fast here and can feed nuisance algae. A 30g tub goes a long way at the tiny amounts these corals actually consume, so it stores well between feedings.
