Cryptocoryne Walkeri Care in Singapore Aquariums
Cryptocoryne Walkeri is an easy, attractive crypt that forms neat clumps of green leaves, typically reaching around 10 to 25cm, making it a versatile pick for foreground groups and mid-ground filling. Singapore aquascapers appreciate its slow, tidy growth, which keeps it in scale far longer than fast stem plants and reduces trimming. Supplied potted, it spreads gently by runners over time, building into a cohesive group that gives a planted tank a settled, established appearance.
Walkeri tolerates a broad pH range and is a heavy root feeder, so a nutrient-rich substrate supports its best growth. It does not need pressurised CO2 and is happy under modest light, suiting low-tech setups well. Our 27-29C ambient temperature sits comfortably within its tolerance, needing no chiller, and our soft tap water suits it once dechlorinated. Plant it where you want it and leave it undisturbed, as crypts dislike being moved and may melt before re-establishing from the rhizome.
