The medium Wabi-Kusa Hanger stands 90mm tall, a middle height between the compact S and the dramatic L. This stainless steel stand raises a Wabi-Kusa ball or mat clear of the substrate so its emersed plants and moss can grow upward into the air. The mid height suits the many nano and 30-45cm tanks we see in local homes, giving lift without overpowering a small composition.
Raising the planting matters in practice. It lets emersed foliage reach toward your light and keeps the base of the ball out of standing detritus, which in our warm 27-29C water helps prevent the lower portion rotting. Stainless steel handles the relentless humidity of an open-top terrarium without corroding. Site the hanger where cascade flow or regular misting keeps the ball damp, and turn it now and then so the plants fill out evenly rather than leaning to one side.
