Description
Common Name: Anubias Nana
This is the golden variant of the popular Anubias Nana. If you’re new to planted tanks and want to try growing for the first time, this is a good one to start with. It’s an extremely easy plant to grow and can survive a wide range of water parameters. Like other Anubias plants it can grow in both aquariums and terrariums either submerged or emersed.
Anubias Nana is a flowering plant that grows best when the rhizome is attached to a hard surface such as wood or stones. They have low to medium light requirements and can benefit from regular fertilization. CO2 is not necessary but can promote faster growth and more robust leaves. Since its a slow grower, the leaves are susceptible to algae growth if placed under high lighting.
Propagation is easy and straightforward; simply cut or pull apart rhizomes to be replanted.

TCulture Anubias Nana Golden for Singapore planted tanks
The Golden is the bright, lime-toned cousin of the classic Nana, and that lighter foliage really pops against dark wood and substrate, making it one of our favourite contrast plants for a midground. Whether you take the potted form or the tissue-culture cup, the care is identical to standard Nana: keep it off the substrate and attach the rhizome to hardscape, since burying the crown causes it to rot. It grips driftwood and stone within a few weeks.
For anyone setting up their first tank in an HDB or condo, this is an ideal starter plant. It shrugs off the soft, slightly acidic SG tap water, grows under low to medium light, and needs no CO2. The golden leaves can scorch under very intense lighting, so in our setups we give it gentle to moderate light, which also keeps algae from settling on its slow-growing leaves in our warm water.
