Tropica Bucephalandra ‘Kedagang’ in Pot for Local Aquascapes

‘Kedagang’ is a Borneo Bucephalandra variety with long, narrow dark green leaves dotted in white, and under submerged conditions the leaves can take on a striking blue metallic sheen. The potted format establishes quickly, letting you tie or glue divided portions onto hardscape right away. As with all Bucephalandra, keep the creeping rhizome exposed when attaching, since burying it leads to rot and slow decline.

Bucephalandra is an ideal slow-growing epiphyte for the compact tanks common in Singapore homes, needing only modest light and tolerating the inconsistent care a busy schedule allows. Expect some initial melt as it adjusts to your water, after which new growth emerges acclimatised. Our 27-29C rooms are fine for it; the slow pace means very little trimming, and added CO2 simply tightens growth and deepens colour over time rather than being essential.
