Description
Absorption-filtration media made of refined bamboo-charcoal absorbent. Which is more solid and porous than general charcoals. Even after its absorption effect ends, Bamboo Charcoal still perfectly works as biological filtration media for a long period of time.
ADA Bamboo Charcoal Filter Media for SG Tanks
ADA’s Bamboo Charcoal is a refined, dense and highly porous carbon media we recommend when you want to polish water clarity and pull out tannins, odours or yellowing from fresh driftwood. It works as an absorption stage in your canister, and as the maker notes, even after its chemical absorption capacity is spent the porous structure keeps serving as a long-term home for beneficial bacteria, so it earns its place in the basket either way.
In our warm, humid climate where new wood and soils can tint the water, a carbon stage helps keep a display looking crisp. Position it after mechanical media so it does not clog with debris, and remember that activated carbon also strips liquid fertilisers and some medications, so pause dosing logic accordingly. For most local planted keepers it is an occasional clarity tool rather than a permanent fixture.
