Bio Rio G in the 1L pack is a versatile filter media that supports biological colonisation while playing nicely with a wide range of canister and hang-on-back filters. We point hobbyists to the 1L size when they are filling a single basket, topping up an existing setup, or kitting out the smaller nano and mid-size tanks that suit Singapore flats. It gives bacteria a porous home so the filter does the quiet work of keeping ammonia and nitrite in check.

Our year-round 27-29C water keeps bacterial activity high, so a healthy bio stage processes the waste from regular feeding without much drama. As with any biological media, rinse it only in tank water during cleaning to protect the colony, and seat it after your mechanical layer so debris does not clog the surface. Sized at 1L, it is easy to scale across multiple tanks or a shared rack.
