ANS Nylon Micron Sock (200 Micron) in S, M and L
Micron socks are the standard way to catch fine waste in a sump-filtered tank, slipping into a holder so all return water passes through the mesh before reaching the pump. At 200 micron this nylon sock traps fine detritus, uneaten food and floating debris that would otherwise settle and decay. Three sizes cover most setups: S (4x7in) and L (7x16in) suit their matching ANS holders, with M (4x14in) bridging the gap for taller chambers.
Nylon socks are washable, so we run a rotation, swapping the in-use sock for a clean spare every few days and machine-friendly rinsing the dirty one. This matters in our warm 27-29C tanks, where a clogged or neglected sock quickly turns into a nutrient trap that releases waste back as it breaks down, undoing its own purpose. Sized correctly to the holder, the sock seals cleanly and avoids overflow bypass.
